# Set table access for teams

> Choose what each team can do with each table. Admins grant permissions to read, create, update, and delete rows, and to manage the schema.

The **Table access** page sets what each [team](https://docs.tulipfarm.ai/admin/teams/) can do with each [table](https://docs.tulipfarm.ai/concepts/tables-and-rows/). Only admins can open it.

## Permissions

| Permission | What it allows |
| --- | --- |
| **Manage schema** | Change the table's fields. |
| **Read rows** | See the rows. |
| **Create rows** | Add new rows. |
| **Update rows** | Change existing rows. |
| **Delete rows** | Remove rows. |

**Create rows** and **Update rows** also need **Read rows**. The team can get **Read rows** directly, or the member can get it from another team. **Manage schema** does not include **Read rows**.

## Grant access

1. Select **Table access** in the settings sidebar.

2. Choose the team that receives access.

3. Select the permissions for each table.

Changes save immediately. There is no separate Save button.

## How access adds up

- A person gets every permission from every team they belong to.
- There are no deny rules. One team cannot take away access that another team gives.
- Permissions apply to every row in the table.
- Owning a table does not give access to its rows.
- Table access does not share the files in a table.
