This glossary defines the terms that you see in TulipFarm. Each term links to a page with more detail.

| [Activate](https://docs.tulipfarm.ai/concepts/saved-activated-running/) | Saving an agent does not turn it on. A manager turns on execution and activates the saved instructions. |
| [Admin](https://docs.tulipfarm.ai/concepts/workspaces-members-and-teams/) | A workspace role. Admins manage membership, settings, models, and table access. Admin status does not give access to other people's chats, agents, files, or connections. |
| [Agent](https://docs.tulipfarm.ai/concepts/agents-skills-and-workflows/) | A saved artificial intelligence (AI) assistant with its own name, instructions, model, skills, and allowed actions. You share it with people and teams. |
| [Agent task](https://docs.tulipfarm.ai/guides/review-agent-tasks/) | One private piece of work that you give to an activated agent. It keeps its history, result, and credit usage. You find it under **My agent tasks**. |
| [Approval](https://docs.tulipfarm.ai/concepts/approvals/) | A proposed change waits until a person approves it. Approval covers exactly what was shown. It grants no extra permissions. |
| [Approve exact batch](https://docs.tulipfarm.ai/guides/review-agent-tasks/) | The button that approves a set of proposed row changes in an agent task. |
| [Bud](https://docs.tulipfarm.ai/getting-started/meet-bud/) | Your built-in personal assistant in each workspace. It guides your first use, offers suggestions, and learns reply preferences. It is not a saved agent. |
| [Calendar](https://docs.tulipfarm.ai/guides/use-the-calendar/) | A page that shows your Google Calendar events, scheduled agents, workflows that you follow, and pending work in one view. |
| [Chat](https://docs.tulipfarm.ai/concepts/chats-and-projects/) | A conversation with TulipFarm's AI. Personal chats are private to you. Project chats are shared with the members of the project. |
| [Compaction](https://docs.tulipfarm.ai/guides/use-chat/) | TulipFarm shrinks the working context of a long chat so that the chat can continue. The original transcript stays readable. |
| [Connection](https://docs.tulipfarm.ai/integrations/) | An authorized link to an outside app, such as Gmail or Slack. Connecting an app is not the same as permission to read or change things. |
| [Credits](https://docs.tulipfarm.ai/concepts/credits/) | Units that measure AI model usage. The whole workspace shares them. |
| [Execution](https://docs.tulipfarm.ai/concepts/saved-activated-running/) | An agent setting that a manager turns on. The manager then activates the saved instructions. |
| [Files](https://docs.tulipfarm.ai/concepts/files-and-knowledge/) | The file library in TulipFarm. It has **My files**, **Shared with me**, **Google Drive**, and **Trash**. |
| [Knowledge](https://docs.tulipfarm.ai/concepts/files-and-knowledge/) | Source material that chats and agents can search and cite. Files that you add are private to you. TulipFarm checks your access again each time. |
| [MCP server](https://docs.tulipfarm.ai/integrations/custom-mcp/) | A Model Context Protocol (MCP) server. An outside service uses it to offer tools to AI assistants. You add one as a custom MCP connection. |
| [Member](https://docs.tulipfarm.ai/concepts/workspaces-members-and-teams/) | A workspace role. Everyone who joins by invitation joins as a member. |
| [Model](https://docs.tulipfarm.ai/admin/models/) | The AI model that answers. Admins choose which model families each workspace or team can use. |
| [Outcome unknown](https://docs.tulipfarm.ai/troubleshooting/unconfirmed-changes/) | TulipFarm cannot tell if an action happened. Use the status or the recovery action. Do not do the action again. |
| [Personal memory](https://docs.tulipfarm.ai/getting-started/meet-bud/) | Your saved reply preferences in one workspace. Only you see it. You find it in **Account settings**. |
| [Project](https://docs.tulipfarm.ai/concepts/chats-and-projects/) | A shared space for a team's chats, files, and instructions. Only project members can open it. Its roles are Manager and Member. |

| [Project knowledge](https://docs.tulipfarm.ai/guides/work-in-a-project/) | Files that you supply for the chats in a project. |
| [Recap](https://docs.tulipfarm.ai/concepts/chats-and-projects/) | A saved summary of the decisions and unfinished work in an inactive chat. |
| [Row](https://docs.tulipfarm.ai/concepts/tables-and-rows/) | One record in a table, such as one customer. |
| [Run](https://docs.tulipfarm.ai/concepts/agents-skills-and-workflows/) | One execution of a workflow. |
| [Skill](https://docs.tulipfarm.ai/concepts/agents-skills-and-workflows/) | A reusable step-by-step procedure that an agent can follow. Skills never grant tools or permissions. |
| [Sponsor](https://docs.tulipfarm.ai/guides/schedule-an-agent/) | The person whose authority a scheduled task runs under. |
| [Table](https://docs.tulipfarm.ai/concepts/tables-and-rows/) | A business object that you define, such as Customers or Invoices, with fields. |
| [Team](https://docs.tulipfarm.ai/concepts/workspaces-members-and-teams/) | A group of members. You share access to tables, agents, and connections once per team. Teams have Managers and Members. |
| [Unconfirmed change](https://docs.tulipfarm.ai/troubleshooting/unconfirmed-changes/) | Another name for an outcome unknown. TulipFarm cannot tell if the change happened. |
| [Workflow](https://docs.tulipfarm.ai/concepts/agents-skills-and-workflows/) | A reusable automation. Each execution is a run. |
| [Workspace](https://docs.tulipfarm.ai/concepts/workspaces-members-and-teams/) | Your company's space. It holds members, teams, chats, tables, files, agents, and workflows. |
| [Workspace URL](https://docs.tulipfarm.ai/admin/workspace-settings/) | The permanent web address (URL) of a workspace, such as `app.tulipfarm.ai/<workspace-url>`. You cannot change it after you create the workspace. |
