# Start workflows from other apps

> Start a TulipFarm workflow from new data in Google Sheets, Google Forms, Notion, or HubSpot. You connect each source with a token.

A [workflow](https://docs.tulipfarm.ai/concepts/agents-skills-and-workflows/) can start when new data appears in another app. TulipFarm checks the app on a fixed interval and starts a run for each new item.

## Supported apps

| App | What starts a run |
| --- | --- |
| Google Sheets | New or updated rows in a sheet. |
| Google Forms | A new form response. |
| Notion | A new page in a database. |
| HubSpot | A new contact, company, deal, or ticket. |

> **Note:** You connect these sources with a token that you paste. Sign-in with your account and automatic token refresh are not available. When a token expires, paste a new one.

## Before you start

Get these details from the administrator of the other app. To send them a request, select **Copy setup instructions** under **Before you connect**.

- **Google Sheets**. The **Spreadsheet ID**, the **Data range without header**, and the **Unique key column, starting at zero**. The token needs the `spreadsheets.readonly` scope.
- **Google Forms**. The **Google Form ID**. The token needs the `forms.responses.readonly` and `forms.body.readonly` scopes.
- **Notion**. The **Data source ID** and an integration token. Share the database with that Notion integration first.
- **HubSpot**. The **HubSpot portal ID** and a private app or OAuth token. OAuth is Open Authorization. The token needs account-info access and read access to the CRM (customer relationship management) object.

## Connect a source

1. Select **Workflows** in the sidebar.

2. Select **Connection setup**.

For Notion, Google Forms, or HubSpot, you can also start from **Connections**. Open the app and select **Set up**.

3. Under **Connect a source**, choose the app.

4. Enter a **Source name**.

5. Enter the details for the app.

6. Paste the token.

7. Select **I authorize access to this source for my workflows**.

8. Select **Test connection**.

The test checks the token and the source. It does not save them or start a workflow.

9. Select **Connect provider source**.

A new source is private to you. You can share use or management of the source with people and teams.

## Use the source in a workflow

1. Create or edit a workflow in chat. See [Build a workflow](https://docs.tulipfarm.ai/guides/build-a-workflow/).

2. Under **Selected provider trigger**, choose the source.

3. Enter the **Poll interval in minutes**. Use a number from 1 to 1,440.

4. Save and activate the workflow.

The trigger starts with the current data. TulipFarm does not start runs for older data.

## Rules for each app

- **Google Sheets**. The first check records a starting point. A source reads up to 1,000 rows and 100 columns. Choose a key column whose values never repeat.
- **Google Forms**. A repeat submission with the same response ID does not start another run.
- **Notion**. Only new pages start runs. The database ID in a page address is not the data source ID.
- **HubSpot**. Only new records start runs. TulipFarm does not import existing records.
