TulipFarm has two GitHub connections. **GitHub** is your private connection. **GitHub team** is a shared connection that an admin sets up.

## Choose a connection

| | GitHub | GitHub team |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Who connects it | You | A workspace admin |
| Who can use it | Only you in this workspace. Admins cannot view or use it. | Selected people and teams. Connection managers grant use and repository access. |
| What it can do | Read repositories, pull requests, issues, and more. Make supported GitHub changes, which ask first. | Read individually granted issues. Investigate permitted code, issues, pull requests, Actions, releases, and discussions. |
| Where you use it | Your personal chats | Private chats and tasks |

## Connect your personal GitHub account

1. Select **Connections** in the sidebar.

2. Select **GitHub**.

3. Select **Connect GitHub account**.

4. Sign in to GitHub and allow access.

You can connect more than one GitHub account. Select **Connect another GitHub account** to add a different login.

Each supported change waits for your approval before it runs. See [Approvals](https://docs.tulipfarm.ai/concepts/approvals/).

To stop using an account, select **Manage accounts**. Then select **Disconnect** for that account. Disconnecting stops new TulipFarm calls. It does not change your GitHub repositories.

## Use the GitHub team connection

A workspace admin adds the GitHub team connection under **Settings** in the **GitHub team** panel. A connection manager then shares it with people and teams. Connection use and repository access are shared separately.

If you are not an admin, the panel shows "Ask a workspace admin to connect GitHub."
