Files and Knowledge

Files is your file library in TulipFarm. Knowledge is the source material that your chats and agents can search and cite.

Files is TulipFarm’s file library. Knowledge is the source material that your chats and agents can search and cite in their answers.

You open your library from Files in the sidebar. It has four sections:

Section What it is
My files Files you upload. They are private to you until you share them.
Shared with me Files other people share with you.
Google Drive Your Google Drive files, when Google Drive is connected.
Trash Files you delete. They stay here until you empty the Trash.

Each file can be up to 10 megabytes (MB). Your workspace has a storage limit. Files in Trash still use storage.

When you open a file, you can choose one of these actions:

  • Use in chat
  • Add to Knowledge
  • Add to project

Google files stay in Google. When you select Save a copy, TulipFarm makes a separate copy in your library. Google Sheets are read-only in TulipFarm.

Knowledge is source material that chats and agents can search. When an answer uses a source, it shows a citation that you can open.

There is no separate Knowledge page. You add to your Knowledge from Files, and you use it through chats and agents.

To add a file, open it and select Add to Knowledge. You cannot add a folder.

Files that you add to your Knowledge are private to you. Your chats and agents can search them. Other people cannot.

TulipFarm checks your access each time you open a citation. If the source changed, was removed, or your access ended, the citation tells you.

A scanned Portable Document Format (PDF) file without text stays in Knowledge, but nobody can search it.

Files that you add to a project are visible to everyone in that project. A project can pin a file so that every answer in the project includes it.
