Connect Google apps

Connect Gmail, Google Calendar, Drive, Sheets, Docs, and Slides. Each Google connection is private to you.

Connect your Google account so that chats and agents can work in Gmail, Google Calendar, Google Drive, Google Sheets, Google Docs, and Google Slides. Each Google connection is private to you.

App What it can do
Gmail Read and label your email. Send email.
Google Calendar Read your events. Create events.
Google Drive Find and read files. Change files.
Google Sheets Read spreadsheets. Change spreadsheets.
Google Docs Read documents. Change documents.
Google Slides Read presentations. Change presentations.

Every Google app can also see your email address.

Sending email, creating an event, and every change to a file, spreadsheet, document, or presentation asks first. You approve each change before it runs. See Approvals.

Changing spreadsheets also needs Google Drive access. If Google Drive access is missing, the Google Sheets panel shows Grant Google Drive access.

Only you. Admins cannot see your Google connections. Other members of your workspace cannot use them.

  1. Select Connections in the sidebar.

  2. Select the Google app that you want to connect, for example Gmail.

  3. Read What it can do in the panel.

  4. Select Connect.

If you already connected another Google app, the button says Grant access.

  5. On the Google page, choose your Google account.

  6. Allow all the access that Google asks for. If Google shows boxes, select all of them.

  7. Check that the app shows Connected.

If a connection shows Needs attention, open the app and select Reconnect. For other problems, see Google connection problems.

Google Sheets can also start a workflow when rows are new or updated. This setup is separate from the connection on this page. See Start workflows from other apps.
