Create skills

Ask chat to write a skill, or import a skill from a link. Then review and enable it so agents can follow it.

A skill is a reusable, step-by-step procedure. Agents and chats can follow it. A skill never grants tools or permissions.

  1. Select Skills in the sidebar.

  2. Select Ask chat to make a skill.

  3. Describe the procedure in the chat. Say what it is for and the steps to follow.

  4. Read the skill draft that the chat shows.

  5. Select Save skill.

A saved skill is not active yet. Agents use it only after a skill manager reviews it.

A skill manager must review each saved version of a skill. Admins can manage any skill. The creator of a skill can manage it until its first review.

  1. Select Skills in the sidebar.

  2. Open a skill with the status Needs review.

  3. Read the procedure.

  4. Select Review and enable.

You can import a skill from a public link on skills.sh, GitHub, or a website.

  1. Select Skills in the sidebar.

  2. Select Import skill.

  3. Paste the link in Source URL.

  4. Select Find skills.

  5. Under Choose skills to review, select the skills that you want. You can choose up to 16.

  6. Select Review selected skills.

The safety review uses workspace credits.

  7. Read the procedure and the package files of each skill.

  8. If the review shows high-risk warnings, read them. Then select I have read the high-risk warnings.

  9. Select Install and enable.

TulipFarm saves the exact versions privately and enables them. Sharing, tools, and data access do not change.

  • In a chat, select Use a skill in the message box. You can also type / to see skill suggestions.
  • On the page of a skill, select Use in chat.
  • To give a skill to an agent, add it on the Skills step of the agent builder.

An agent keeps the skill version that it uses. It does not move to a newer version by itself. To change it, select Select newer revision on the agent.

Action What to do
Change a skill Open the skill and select Edit in chat. A skill manager then reviews the new version.
Turn a skill off Open the skill and select Disable skill.
Turn a reviewed skill back on Open the skill and select Enable reviewed skill.
Archive a skill Open the skill and select Archive skill. This hides it from lists and pickers. Agents that already use it keep working.
