Manage files

Upload, organize, and share files in TulipFarm, restore items from Trash, and add files to your Knowledge.

Files is the file library of your workspace. Your files are private until you share them. See Files and Knowledge.

Section What it holds
My files Files and folders that you own.
Shared with me Files and folders that other people share with you.
Google Drive Files in your connected Google Drive.
Trash Items that you moved to Trash.
  1. Select Files in the sidebar.

  2. Select Upload.

  3. Choose files from your device.

Upload rules:

  • Each file can be up to 10 MB.
  • You cannot upload a folder. Open the folder on your device and upload the files inside it.
  • Your workspace has a storage limit. Files in Trash still use storage.

For upload errors, read Upload problems.

Task What to do
Create a folder Select New folder, enter a Folder name, and select Create folder.
Move items Select the items, then select Move.
Rename an item Select Rename. Links and sharing stay the same.
Find a file Search by file name. The search also checks inside folders.
Filter the list Filter by type, owner, or modified date.

Sharing never changes who owns a file.

  1. Open the file or folder.

  2. Select Share.

  3. Under Add people or teams, choose a person or team.

  4. Choose the access level: Can view, Can edit, or Can manage.

  5. Select Done.

Access on a folder applies to everything inside it. A copied link does not give anyone access. Only people with access can open it.

  1. Select the items.

  2. Select Move to trash.

To restore an item, open Trash, select the item, and select Restore.

Your Knowledge is source material that your chats and agents can search. Only you can use your Knowledge. Other people cannot.

  1. Open the file.

  2. Select Add to Knowledge.

  3. Select Add to Knowledge in the dialog.

  4. Wait for the message “Ready. Chats can use it from your Knowledge.”

Rules for Knowledge:

  • TulipFarm saves the text of the file as it is now. It does not follow later edits.
  • If you lose access to the file, or someone deletes it, TulipFarm stops using its entry.
  • You cannot add a folder. Select the files instead.
  • TulipFarm cannot read text from scanned pages.
Action What it does
Use in chat Uses the file in a chat.
Add to project Adds the file to a project. Everyone in the project can see it.
Copy link Copies a link to the file. The link does not give access.
Download Saves the file to your device.

If Google Drive does not connect, read Google connection problems.

  • Google files stay in Google.
  • To make a TulipFarm copy, select Save a copy. The copy is a separate file. It can be up to 10 MB.
  • Google Sheets files are read-only in TulipFarm.
